Rebellious Unicorns is a 100% 2SLGBTQ+ owned events, broadcasting and media production company, based out of Kelowna, BC. Dedicated to leading positive change wherever we can, we endeavour to create events, experiences, and programming that bring people together.

As our founder, Dustyn Baulkham puts it:

“If you're a fabulous outsider who believes in equality, you might just be a Rebellious Unicorn. Our company was founded with the goal of creating new, welcoming, and inclusive opportunities for people to gather and celebrate. We’re dedicated to leading positive change worldwide and ensuring all are welcome under the Rebellious Unicorns umbrella".

Since beginning in 2017, Rebellious Unicorns has gone on to produce a variety of in person events, including drag brunches, dance parties, mountain pride festivals, queer music series, networking events and more. We're also pleased to offer our vitual platform, Unicorns.LIVE, featuring a safe space for independent creators to be seen and heard, judgement free. With hours and hours of content already created, Unicorns.LIVE is your source for 2SLGTBQ+ entertainment.

Along with events and production, RU also hosts one of the largest online stores for 2SLGTBQ+ merchandise, flags and clothing in all of Canada.

With multiple new events in the pipeline, and an ever growing team, RU is prepped to push the envelope and grow the 2SLGBTQ+ focused event space to new heights. Keep an eye out for all our new projects as they're announced! We'd love to see you at one, or all of them.

Dustyn Baulkham he/him
Head Unicorn
Founder and Executive Producer

Dustyn Baulkham is a powerhouse event producer, equity advocate, and community builder who’s been queering the Canadian landscape one glitter bomb at a time. As CEO of Rebellious Unicorns and Festival Manager for Kelowna Pride, he’s behind some of the most unforgettable events in BC — including Peak Pride, Naughty Drag Bingo, and the 10,000+ strong Kelowna Pride Festival.

Dustyn currently serves as Chair of the Central Okanagan Foundation and sits on the Board of Governors for Okanagan College. Previously, he was Treasurer for Fierté Canada Pride, where he co-led national conferences in Halifax, Saskatoon, London, and Kelowna — all while working remotely and passionately across the country.

He’s supported over 20 major events across North America and Europe, including Vegas, Florida, Boston, and Germany — always with a flair for the fabulous and a spreadsheet that slaps.

A proud recipient of the CGLCC’s Young LGBT+ Entrepreneur of the Year award, Dustyn continues to blaze trails and build spaces where queer folks can thrive — unapologetically, joyfully, and in full technicolour.

Precious Chazz is the face of Unicorns.LIVE and the perfect Office Pup. He can often be found napping on his bed, supervising livestreams or sitting in Dustyn's lap during Zoom calls. His likes include snacks, hugs and attention. Dislikes include loud noises and being ignored.
