FruitCake 2026: Back to Our Roots (and Back on the Dance Floor)

FruitCake is Kelowna’s most iconic, unapologetically queer party—and in 2026, we’re bringing it right back to what it was always meant to be: a DJ dance party with drag as the highlight.

FruitCake started in 2017, back when queer spaces and queer events in the Okanagan were few and far between. We built it as a monthly pop-up night—taking over clubs and venues that weren’t traditionally queer-focused, but were welcoming—and turning them into the kind of space we deserved: loud, proud, sweaty, glittery, and fully ours.

After two years of featuring well-known artists (yes, we went there—Bif Naked and Simone Denny of Love Inc), we’ve done a lot of reflecting. And the truth is: FruitCake hits different when the focus is the dance floor. So this year, we’re returning to the original magic—big DJ energy, big queer joy, and drag moments that light the whole place up.
