Both of the weekend's events are headlined by Canada’s Drag Race Season 3 runner up Jada Shada Hudson, who is super excited to be in Kamloops for the very first time. Joining her for both events will be everyone's favourite Two-Spirit Goddess, Ella Lamoureux. Also performing exclusively at FruitCake will be local stars Doris in Drag and Hollie Woods, along with Kelowna’s Sophonda Dick and BOSS. After the show, DJ Miss Demeanor and Guille the DJ will have the dance floor packed with all the ghouls and goblins in attendance!

“We are excited to be bringing our inclusive and welcoming events to Kamloops,” shares Dustyn Baulkham, Executive Producer with Rebellious Unicorns. “After a couple highly successful events during Kamloops Pride we couldn’t wait to get back to Kamloops and Halloween, also known as Gay Christmas, is the perfect time for our return.”

Rebellious Unicorns is super excited to bring more drag back to Kamloops. Tickets for FruitCake: Halloween are already more than 70% gone, and our last drag brunch was completely sold out, so if you want to attend be sure to buy your tickets ASAP. About FruitCake:

FruitCake is a themed monthly 2SLGTBQ+ party series. Taking place in rotating locations across western Canada, we’ve grown from a dance party to a full evening experience. The core element of FruitCake has always been the live DJ and dance party, but those have now been accented by either a drag show featuring local and national talent, or a live comedy pre-show featuring a line-up of upcoming 2SLGTBQ+ comedians. FruitCake was founded on the idea that everyone should have a safe place to party, let loose and be themselves.

Jada Shada Hudson
Born and raised on the beautiful island of Barbados, Ms. Jada Shada Hudson was a star from the beginning. At a young age she began performing in professional theatre, and kept matriculating her talents at the national level with Barbados’ leading dance troupe. Upon immigrating to Canada she delved deep into the drag scene and has come out on top!

The past 13 years, Jada has dominated not only Toronto's drag scene, but queer celebrations all over the country. She has gained notoriety for being bubbly and gracious which garnered the attention of top brands in campaigns for Spotify, Fireball, Bud light and BMO among others.

"Toronto's Turn Up Queen" is still revving up. Along with being a recurring panelist on the hit show, '1 Queen, 5 Queers' Ms. Jada Shada Hudson is currently a contestant on the third season of Drag Race Canada, which premiered July 2022.

Ella Lamoureux

Ella Lamoureux is one of the founding performers of the Kelowna drag scene. From Kelowna’s Next Drag Superstar drag competition, Embodiment, #2muffs1collr, to recent star on Call Me Mother, Ella has carved out her place as one of the most influential and stunning drag performers in Kelowna. A makeup artist by trade, Ella will eternally tease you with her beauty. But, watch out if you displease her — that tongue is quick and sharper than you think! She’s generally “as sweet as cherry pie” and she brings so much love and joy to the community. A true charmer, Ella Lamoureux is Kelowna’s Sweetheart.
