Licorne Lounge Kelowna Recap - Rebellious Unicorns

Holy Sh#%.

What a weekend.

I want to start this post off by saying thank you! Thank you to the performers, thank you to our venues, and most of all, thank you to everyone that came out and made this first Peak Pride kickoff event so great! Keep your eyes peeled because this certainly won’t be the last show we do.

As well, I hope this event and its recap get you hyped for our upcoming events at our four mountain partners! As a reminder, the first official Peak Pride of the season kicks off March 3rd at Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island.

Alright, housekeeping is out of the way. Let’s talk about the weekend.

Should you tip your Queen with gift cards?

One of the best moments of the night was when an audience member tried to tip Scarlett with a Subway gift card.

I’m gonna be honest here, I think the Queens prefers cash. It’s easier to stuff into a bra. As for an update on the gift card, I’m proud to say I found it lying on the piano after the show and totally stole it. Turns out it had 20$ on it. So thanks to the person that bought me lunch for a few days!

Toddy and Matty P kill the duet.

Fun fact, the idea for Toddy and Matty to do a number together only came up a few days before the show. Needless to say, when you put two amazingly talented people together the results tend to speak for themselves.

Both of them are scheduled to come to Peak Pride, so keep your eye out for more duets in the future.

Scarlett Bobo CAN flip.

In case you didn’t know, Bobo went to circus school. I wonder if she can teach me how to do some of her flips. I bet those would go over amazingly at the club.

Hangovers don’t stop our Queens.

For me, a long night of drinking means that I don’t even want to think about alcohol the next day, let alone get out of bed. For Toddy, Ella, Valerie and Scarlett however, it’s just part of the gig. Certainly hung over from the night before, these troopers still managed to put on a hilarious mess of a show for Drag Brunch at DunnEnzies. Don’t ask me how they managed to do tequila shots at 11am without vomiting.

In case you’re still not sure if you missed out, here are a couple more snaps from the night.

Can't wait to see you at the next event!
